About Vanessa Gajewska

I am a warmly relational, approachable, down to earth integrative Counsellor and Counselling Supervisor who works with individuals and couples wanting to address any number of issues affecting the quality and enjoyment of their lives. As such, I draw from a range of theoretical models and methods to respond to individual needs in a way that is gentle, challenging and creative. I may use: Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Emotion Focussed Therapy, Counselling for Depression, Psycho-Synthesis, Life Coaching, Communication Coaching, Transactional Analysis and Energy Psychology approaches.

My qualifications include: MSc (Counselling Research), Diploma in Counselling (University of Bristol) a Diploma in Counselling Supervision, as well as Certificates in Workplace Mediation and Life Coaching. I am also APSATS trained to support partners impacted by betrayal trauma and sexual compulsivity/addiction.

My Senior Accreditations both as a Therapist and Supervisor by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP Snr Accred) and alignment within Column C of  the SCoPEd Framework evidences 'high standards of knowledge, experience and development' and means that my practice is professionally accountable. I am committed to ongoing professional development which keeps me up to date with current trends and research to enhance and support the services I offer.

As a Therapist with nearly 40 years experience I have an extensive background of working within Mental Health and the NHS, Higher Education Wellbeing Services, Occupational Health Departments as well as in my Private Practice. Consequently I have developed ways of working and approaching issues that can help people in a variety of circumstances who are seeking support for the difficulties that they face. These frequently include: low self-esteem, anxiety, stress and panic, the traumatic impact of Sex Addiction on a partner/relationship, depression, PND, feelings of being stuck, confusion and powerlessness, navigating change, abuse, trauma, bereavement, neglect and work-related issues. I am affiliated to a national network of Employee Assistance Programmes and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework while receiving high quality, regular professional Supervision.

In addition, as a Supervisor, I provide supportive and developmental individual and group Supervision, Mentoring and Training for Therapists and Mental Health professionals.
