About Counselling

We all have times when we feel lost, stuck and confused - when it is difficult to sort things out on our own. This is when it can be helpful to get support from a trained and experienced counsellor providing a supportive and empowering place for you to talk in confidence - where you will be listened to without prejudice or judgment. My role is to understand things from your perspective and facilitate you finding your way forward.

I believe that 'good' therapy depends on a 'good' relationship. This comes from repeated experiences of counselling promoting positive change and personal development. With this in mind, I respectfully maintain your best interests at all times.

I work from a private house in a light and peaceful therapy room (disabled access can be arranged). While there is no waiting area, WC facilities are available. When you arrive at the time of your appointment, I will meet you at the front door and show you upstairs to the therapy room to begin our first session.

During this you are invited to talk about your reasons for coming, current issues and hopes for your future. It is an opportunity for us to check out if it's appropriate for us to work together without obligation to further sessions. If it seems you'd benefit from a different type of service or approach then I will happily discuss this and provide alternative suggestions for an onward referral.

If we both agree to continue we contract to meet regularly - usually on a weekly basis. All sessions last for 50 minutes and cost from £40 to £50. Non-attendance of a booked appointment is charged at the sessional rate.

Please direct any enquiries to me via email or the enquiry form on the contact page.

Thank you for visiting my website. I look forward to hearing from you.
