About Counselling

We all have times when we feel lost, stuck and confused - when it is difficult to sort things out on our own. This is when it can be helpful to get support from a trained and experienced Counsellor providing a supportive and empowering place where you can talk in confidence and where you will be listened to without prejudice or judgment. My role is to understand things from your perspective and facilitate you finding your way forward.

I believe that 'good' therapy depends on a 'good' relationship. This comes from my repeated experience of counselling promoting positive change and personal development. With this in mind, I respectfully maintain your best interests at all times.

I work from a private house in a light and peaceful therapy room. While there is no waiting area, WC facilities are available. When you arrive at the time of your appointment, I will meet you at the front door and show you upstairs to the therapy room to begin our first session. During this you are invited to talk about your reasons for coming, current issues and hopes for your future. It is an opportunity for us to check out if it's appropriate for us to work together without obligation to further sessions. If it seems you'd benefit from a different type of service or approach then I will happily discuss this and where appropriate provide alternative suggestions.

If we both agree to continue we will contract to meet regularly usually between Monday to Thursday on a weekly basis. All sessions last for 50 minutes and cost from 55. Non-attendance of any booked appointment is charged at the sessional rate.

Please direct any enquiries to me via email or the enquiry form on the contact page.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website, I look forward to hearing from you.

Warmly wishing you well - Vanessa.
